The Soidinvaara exploration reservation (24km2) covers historic vanadium mineralisation, and is located outside of Natura 2000 conservation areas, national parks and nature reserves.

Critical Metals has compiled all historic data, re-assayed and sampled historic core, completed Davis Tube recovery test work, completed field visits and undertaken a new modern ground magnetic survey. Drill holes have now been designed to test the best vanadium targets.

Focus of the test work will be determing whether the Soidinvaara ore can be used as a feedstock for the production of a vanadium electrolyte for the Redox Flow battery market.

The historic Mustavaara vanadium mine (not owned by Critical Metals) is located 20km to the northeast of Soidinvaara, was the largest producer of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) in Western Europe and accounted for some 10% of the global supply of vanadium during the 1970-80’s.
